Bhandara, Maharashtra | August 2: An International Academic and Social Awareness Seminar was organized in Bhandara, Maharashtra, under the joint aegis of the Samajik Vichar Manch, the Ambedkar Association of North America (AANA), and the Ambedkar International Mission Oman. The event commenced with the dignitaries paying floral tributes and lighting the ceremonial lamp before the statues of great social reformers.
Delivering the welcome address, Shirish Sonewal of Samajik Vichar Manch extended a warm reception to the distinguished guests and participants. Providing an overview of the event, Pravin Patil stated that the seminar brought together prominent academicians, social activists, and Ambedkarite leaders from India and abroad.
Among the distinguished attendees were Advocate Nortaram Loroli, Chairman of Ambedkarite People's Voice, Prem Birande, Deepak Kadam of Ambedkar Mission, Dr. Ullas Chandelkar, Dr. Anil Dongre, Dean of North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon, Nitin Gajbhiye of SCAN, Julie Ambedkar, Roshan Jambhulkar, Raju Kendre, and several other eminent personalities.
In his address, Advocate Nortaram Loroli emphasized the urgent need for strong national media platforms rooted in Ambedkarite ideology. He stated that independent media must be strengthened to effectively highlight issues related to social justice, constitutional values, and the aspirations of the Bahujan community.
Delivering the keynote lecture on "Ambedkar 2.0," Dr. Anil Dongre, Dean of North Maharashtra University, explored how Dr. B. R. Ambedkar might have addressed today's social, educational, and technological challenges. He stressed that education, digital empowerment, scientific thinking, and constitutional values would remain central to Dr. Ambedkar's vision for a progressive and inclusive society.
The seminar featured extensive discussions on education, social awareness, constitutional rights, youth leadership, and the promotion of Ambedkarite thought. Speakers unanimously described education as the most powerful instrument for social transformation and urged young people to actively contribute to building an informed, equitable, and democratic society.
The event witnessed the participation of a large number of social activists, academicians, students, and members of the Ambedkarite movement. It concluded with a collective commitment to advancing education, constitutional values, and inclusive social change. :::**
